Just in case you missed it... :)

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely Chrissy!  Today I just thought I'd share with you here my latest post that went live right before Christmas over at 2Crafty's blog...

I've got three Christmassy layouts to share with you all today, and boy - I've had such a fun time scrapping these festive layouts!!  I find that the lead-up to Christmas is made even more exciting when I'm creating Christmassy projects and goodies!!

So the first layout I'd like to share is called "Xmas Q & A with Lucy"...

For this layout, I made up a fun little "interview" for my daughter Lucy to answer, to accompany these lovely pics of her doing the honour of putting the angel on the top of the tree this year (the girls take turns each year and they seem to have no trouble at all remembering who's turn it is!  Of course documenting it in this way would help... Lol!).

On this layout I have used two Doilies, which have been painted in gesso.  The smaller one has been cut in half - one half is adhered to the bottom left corner and the other half is close to the centre of the page.

My part of my title (the "Q" and "A") is using this 12" x 12" sheet of chipboard lettering... isn't the font cool?!  I have painted the letters in white gesso and once this had dried, I stamped a script stamp over them with black StazOn ink.

I have used one 12" Stem (they come in a packet of 2) across my layout - this has been painted in emerald green acrylic paint (2 coats) and then machine stitched before adhering.  I really love these vines - they create a lovely flow and I really love how long they are too. :)

The second layout I would like to share here is based on sketch #238 at Creative Scrappers, and it's called "A Very Beachy Christmas"...

I absolutely adore the Brushstroke Tree by 2Crafty!  It's awesome!!  Here I have painted it in gesso and I've adhered my layout title onto it for a cool title block!

I have topped off my tree with a starfish - a fun take on the layout's theme!  This starfish has been covered in patterned paper and I've dry-brushed gesso over the top in the same direction as the brushstroke tree.

I've used a full pack of 6 Seagulls on my layout.  How cool are they?  I love them!  I have given them two thick coats of gesso and scattered them vertically on my layout.

I've also included two seashells on my layout, also covered in gesso, but this time I have used a paper piercer (you could also use a pin or needle) to etch out the fine details to make them stand out more.  I really like the effect of this simple technique.  The aforementioned starfish and the two seashells come from theSeashells 5-pack.

The smaller super-cute star that you can spy in that last close-up is from the fabWeather Bits 8-pack.

My third and final layout to share here has been based on the current challenge at OUAS.  This layout is called "Noel"...

I have used two Retro Xmas Trees on my layout... I love how funky these are!  I have covered them in gesso, then once dried, I rubbed chalk onto the gessoed surface.  I used a sponge applicator to apply the chalk, which is much like a make-up applicator for eyeshadow.  I then wrapped a little bit of baker's twine around them and topped them off with some FWAB adhesive rhinestones in black as baubles.

I have layered these trees by tucking the larger one underneath the photo matte (which consists of a lot of layers in itself!).

Using a Flourish Ornament Border, I applied the same aforementioned technique, and topped them off with left-over pieces from FWAB Chloe pearl flourish.  I cut the bow from the middle of the chipboard flourish and arranged each half on either side of the photo, layering the bow on top of the left piece.

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Chantal :)
