So this layout is based on Stuck?! sketch for January 1st, and it's simply called "Just Be You"...
I used the mirror image of the sketch here - it just suited the photo better that way. The chipboard title "Just be you" is by 2Crafty and I've actually separated the words (they are all joined) to spread them out a bit and to match my layout's design. I have painted gesso over the letters, then once dried, I painted pearl pen over the top (using an artist's paintbrush). After machine stitching the words into place, I then topped the "You" word with FWAB Adhesive Pearls in Mango for some added bling.
I also used a pearl pen (directly onto the chipboard this time) onto a beautiful flourish from the Flourishes 2 decorative 12" x 12" sheet. I love the wet look that is achieved by doodling onto chipboard with these pearl pens... the end result is stunning and it's really complimented with FWAB Jack Vine - Green. :)
The gorgeous papers are both new and are by Meg's Garden. I have washed over "A Summer Rose" from the Ode to a Summer's Day Collection with pink acrylic paint mixed with water, and I've done the same method (this time with yellow paint) with "Cream Satin", from the A Touch of Lace paper collection.
I have also used Meg's Garden's transparencies in the top left and bottom right corners (adhered with machine stitching) plus the paper lace doily strip and ribbon is also from Meg's Garden.
I pleated the paper lace doily strip for a bit of dimension and interest, plus it looks really feminine and pretty that way too. :)
That's all from me for now, have a great day!!
Cheers,
Chantal :)
